Nike Soles to Protect Your iPhone

Sneaker fans can put their love for Nike brand footwear on their iPhones, thanks to a pair of cases featuring the sole design from two of the most popular Nike offerings-- the Roshe and Air Force 1.

Available solely for the iPhone 7 (no option is available for the iPhone 7 Plus or any other iPhone model, alas), the Roshe case comes in bright red or seafoam green, while the Air Force 1 case only comes in classic blue.

Of course, Nike is no stranger to Apple, having made plenty of device cases, apps and branded products over the past decade. Recently Nike has focused mainly on the Apple Watch, with the limited edition Watch NikeLab promising to be the "ultimate style companion" for runners.

The PowerUp USB-C Charger/Hub Combo

The PowerUp is a 3rd party solution for an issue familiar to any owner of a laptop featuring only USB-C ports such as the latest MacBook Pro, namely adding more ports while charging the device.

Designed by startup Homey Lab, the PowerUp is a charger roughly the same size and shape of the old Apple MagSafe bricks. It has a built-in USB-C cable together with three USB 3.0 ports, adding more legacy ports without need for dongles.

Interestingly, while the PowerUp is technically a charger it still operates as a USB hub even if not connected to mains power. It offers 72W power output, meaning it can charge 12-inch MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Pro at full speed but will be a bit slow if charging with the 15-inch MacBook, which uses an 87W charger.

An Espresso... Via Mokase Smartphone Case?

An Espresso... Via Mokase Smartphone Case?

The idea behind the Mokase is equal parts intriguing and unlikely-- a smartphone case able to make to produce a tiny shot of espresso, wherever and whenever one wants it.

To produce the espresso, the Mokase uses a built-in battery to heat a special "wafer" cartridge to 50-60 degrees Celsius. Starting the coffee-making process simply requires slotting the cartridge in the case before summoning an obligatory companion app.

After a "few seconds" the case pumps the espresso through a pipe made out of a aluminium-silicon pipe able to handle heat without releasing toxins. The maker does not specify the kind of coffee found inside the cartridge, but it does say it produces a 25ml shot (a standard espresso is 29ml).

The SteelSeries

Accessory maker SteelSeries announces what it claims is "the world's first dual-surface RGB illuminated mousepad"-- the QcK Prism, a mousepad featuring a dual-textured reversible surface, as well as the obligatory LED lighting.

The "dual-surface" portion of the above claim comes via insert users can flip to choose between either a hard polymer surface (for fast-paced gaming) or micro-textured cloth (for extra control). SteelSurface says one can insert some of its QcK and Dex pads in the Prism base, but separately supplied mousing surfaces might not fit due to 1-5mm manufacturing tolerances.

Logitech Presents G413 Gaming Keyboard

The latest Logitech gaming keyboard fails to look like its overdesigned brethren-- the G413 is a mid-range option with an understated aluminium case.

How to Turn the iPhone Into a Mini-Mac

Elago follows on the W3, an Apple Watch charging stand modeled after the 1984 Macintosh computer, with the M4-- a stand for customers wanting to turn their iPhone into an old Mac.

The M4 is a charging stand, and as such it functions very much identically to the W3. One simply slides the iPhone (7, 6s or 6) into the side of the housing, with a pass-through rail in the bottom manages the Lightning cable. Construction is in scratch-free silicone, and the material feels soft to the touch while providing enough weight to hold the stand firmly on any flat surface.
