How to Add a Touchscreen to the MacBook Air

Neonode announces a 13-inch MacBook Air version of the AirBar-- a plug-and-touch means to add touchscreen functionality to non-touch laptops via what the company calls zForce AIR technology.

The AirBar is a slim aluminium bar one magnetically attaches to the bezel underneath the MacBook Air display. It plugs in via USB, and users may either immediately plug-and-touch or install multi-touch software, and it allows users to touch the screen with anything from a gloved finger to a paintbrush.

Supported interactions include scrolling through emails, reading eBooks and zooming in on images. The AirBar requires 17mm of free space below the display, which is why it is not compatible with the MacBook Pro, 12-inch MacBook or 11-inch MacBook.

PhotoFast proposes a simple solution for the recording of phone calls on iPhone-- the Call Recorder, a hardware adapter one plugs into the Lightning port to record calls from a number of services.

The Call Recorder has a one-touch record button to start recording, and includes a 3.5mm jack to double as an adapter. Calls are stored on either local storage or microSD card using a .m4a format. Compatible calling services include Skype, Facebook messegner, WhatsApp, Line, Viber and WeChat.

Also included are x1 USB-C (with 15W power) and x1 USB-A (with 2.1 amps fast charging) ports. The combination of DisplayPort and Thunderbolt 3 allows support for up to two 4K external displays.

Microsoft quietly adds a pair of peripherals to its online storefront-- the Modern Keyboard and Modern Mouse, both featuring Bluetooth 4.0 allowing use with any device compatible with the wireless standard.

The Modern Keyboard has a low profile aluminium frame Microsoft claims is "virtually indestructible" while matching the sleek design of the Surface product line. It can be used with either wireless or wired connection, has a built-in battery promising up to 2 months on a single charge, and is compatible with Windows 10, MacOS, iOS and Android devices.

However what makes the Modern Keyboard rather interesting is a fingerprint sensor nestled between the Alt and Ctrl keys. It is compatible with Windows 10 devices, and allows users to unlock their PCs through Windows Hello and a finger press.
